Switching from Medicare Advantage to original Medicare plus Medigap and PDP.

I received a notification from my Medicare Advantage provider that they are not offering the plan anymore, making me eligible for guaranteed issue on a Medigap plan. So, I'm going to switch. I am currently thinking of getting Plan G-HD. I've read bunch of stuff on Medicare.gov and watched a bunch of Youtube videos, but I'm still not sure how to select the best provider, other than selecting the one with the lowest price. Any suggestions, hints, or tips would be appreciated.

You're lucky you picked a MAPD plan that terminated.

You're fortunate to have the opportunity to move back to original Medicare.

You're smart to consider an HDG plan (or G plan based on your health)

Why do you want OFF an Advantage plan? Lots of agents here would like to hear your reasons

Price is pretty well king when it comes to med supps as the plans are standardized and the same from one company to the next. The things you might consider are the company's rate increase history and if the company has a habit of closing a book of business with one company and the issuing the plans with a subsidiary.

I had UHC Medicare Advantage for a while but my doctor's medical practice stopped taking it. Then, my dermatologist who I had gone to for many years wouldn't take my new Medicare Advantage. I've also had problems with prescription approvals. I figure it's only going to get worse.

How can I find rate increase history? I've heard a few things about that but it all seemed to be anecdotal. I guess I could check rates for a person older than me. For G-HD I've seen United American mentioned favorably.

Yup, heard same thing at least 20x this year. Many here don't seem to think managed care matters

Ask your agent. I am talking about across the board increases not the attained age increases.
