T65 Med Supp Persistency

Why would you have a chargeback besides death???

I keep forgetting to do the marketing thing, but I am always above 98% persistency and I close everyone who is over 65. Why would they call someone else? I'm fabulous.

When someone under 65 calls and is shopping brokers, I basically blow them off. I don't sell anything. Either use the best or get screwed later. Have a lovely day!

Same.

Persistency really shouldn't be an issue in Medicare.

After 9 months, pretty much always as earned.

If you have the right marketing plan, they usually come back if they have an issue.

For example, this year I had a husband that wanted to go to MA. I had wrote his wife. He was heathy, but CSO wouldn't take him for another year because of his prior AFIB.

I explained the pros and cons of MA and showed him how to fill the biggest gaps.

I technically lost 1 client with CSO who was in year 2/3 for fyc to getting three MA sales + two HI/CA plans.

I don't push very hard for leads. Most of my lead generation is really about people knowing I exist when they're ready to make a move. My close ratio is pretty high because I don't sell.

.

I wouldn't even count that towards persistency. He wants something you don't sell. NEXT.

If your in the lower middle income to lower income mapd market your going to get chargebacks . I've written 47 so far in 2021 and everyone was a replacement. I've had 3 chargeback on me.

Does not matter, Most of my Deals are plan changes and retiring over the age of 65

T65 are are small amount of my buis compared

So many of my people have had a plan with another agent

I think this works the best because they see you are better you don't ignore their call answer their questions be there when they have medical issues mis billing or whatever they need

Many of my ref come from this group because they can see the difference you are not the 1st one they delt with

So, low income people are always a challenge, no matter the industry. They're so used to being jerked around and manipulated that they start and maintain a healthy level of skepticism.

As soon as something doesn't go perfectly, it kicks in...

That's a lot of ongoing relationship building and maintaining. If you can invest in it and make them feel important, then they'll spread you like wildfire.

However, in the same vein, some upper income people are entitled af. You can provide perfect service and a small hiccup happens and it's like WW3.

If I think someone's going to be toxic, I pass... But even with low income, if I think they're going to be great (even just as a client) I'll bend over backwards for them.

I do stay away from Medicaid, I actually had 4 this AEP thought I would dip my toe since 3 were referrals

I have one still on the books plus they were a lot of work so I back to not doing it

As far as the PITA upper I do weed those out when they become too demanding I walk

but I do have a lot of upper income, Some after I pulled back they fell in line many times with them its a bluff, and when it's not I am happy to walk away

Happyness in this buis is knowing when to walk away, I just need to learn to do this in other areas of life

Your assessment of duals is incorrect. The reason it's a tough non loyal mkt is the people themselves . There a forgotten lonely group and they mail in 10 cards a yr . That's why hopefully a free food card will keep them loyal .But since I'm in the fe mkt I know how to deal with them .But yes for the avg agent they'd have little interest in that mkt
