Tax Penalty? I Don't Pay Taxes

Everyone earning a wage should pay taxes - period. 47% is unspeakable. Unless you're on welfare you should be paying.

Everyone living in this country enjoys the services and no one should get those services free.

I was stunned when I read that article. I assumed only "the poor" didn't pay taxes and my estimate was around 15%.

No wonder we're in these financial straits.

That statement is inaccurate. 47% of households owe no income tax. About half of that group do have a payroll tax liability.

I guess most people won't worry about a tax penalty when 47% of all households don't pay federal taxes.

I don't think it will be a tax penalty if you don't buy insurance, but rather a fine. Income will determine whether or not you are fined for not purchasing health coverage.

If 47% are paying no tax then at least 47% could likely have no fine. Like I said we will have GI with no mandate, or mandate-lite. Rates will sky rocket and everyone loses.

It would be better to have a national standardized and subsidized risk pool, but what do I know.

I surely don't need you to achieve any kind of public notoriety in this venue. I'm a good editoralist (probably the best IN this venue... (with maybe the exception of Winter)... although competing with junior college drop outs is nothing to brag about) and there is not an issue in this venue where I can't bring out the ire and venom of the neo-con subscribers who are in the majority here.
