Telemarketer to Avoid !

I paid $400 to have a guy, John Watts, in M C call and obtain leads for
Final Expense. $20 a lead .,. . .total 20.

I got 10 .. . .and then the SHIF . . . .He said he couldn't call one week due
to a massive power outage in NC. . . .the next week his drunken brother
in law came over and messed up his equipment. . .. said he called the Sheriff
on the guy. . .. . and now, last week he said his wife had to be hospitalized.

I asked for the balance on deposit of $200 refunded since he was unable to
to fulfill the order. . . .he said he would send it .. . but nothing has been
received so far ,. . .. for about another week .. . . and the mail just ran
with nothing from John Watts in the mail. SO save your self some grief
and money and avoid using this guy. . .. named John Watts. . .. NC

The guy may be a goofball, but he did deliver 10 leads. Why not give him a little more time to produce the others? In the meantime, you can continue your search for a more reliable telemarketer.

OP, how did you pay? Hopefully by credit card...if so, give him another couple of days and if you don't get the refund..dispute it with the company. Hopefully you actually made some money off of the 10 he sent you.

If someone can't produce a steady stream of leads and continues to BS you...NEXT!

Well, good luck him getting his money back. Might as well try to get the rest of the leads (not like the guy hasn't produced anything). Or he can just chalk it up to a bump in the road. I never recommended he retain this clown afterwards.

I don't know the guy but what he is telling you may not be that farfetched. Telemarketing pay for performance leads is very difficult. Give the guy a little more rope. Don't let him forget that you are owed leads and hopefully he works out his difficulties. Good luck and Happy Easter

If you didn't know the guy then I hope you received some good references before you paid him any money. If not you probably got what you deserved. If you did and you know he has history of producing then maybe give the guy some more time. Hopefully you did pay by credit card and can dispute the charge. If not then you really got what you deserved.

Going forward you should pay yourself to produce your leads.

Obviously you've never had to dispute a cc charge, good for you. I'd give him 3-4 days and then dispute. Most ppl respond to getting a dispute email/letter, in my experience. Give him a chance before going through the headache of a dispute. You're right...that was really bad advice.

I agree maybe 3-4 days then the chargeback as he has had 4 weeks and there is a time limit to file a dispute and the OP is half way through it now.

I should have checked here first. Sent him $250 for local leads in PA, after checking 3 references he provided. Several emails the first week whining about this and that, then sent me 1 lead, from CO. No communication in 30 days. I have called & emailed a half dozen times. Won't answer the phone, or return emails. Lots of clowns out there, I like to think I can usually sniff them out. Hopefully we help prevent this from happening to others. Again, his name is John Watts, company name he used is Allied Leads.
