Telemarketing Objections

You've really got two problems here...

Number one, what makes you assume that everybody wants to "save money on their life insurance"? Did you ask them?

Number two, what makes you think they believe you?

Any suggestions for his script?

We have identified the most commonly heard objections and learned to address them before they arise. So, if you are hearing "I already have life insurance" a lot, then overcome it before they say it. Suggestions: "rates have come down over the last few years", "there are many new products that can save you money", "many products sold over the last few years were overpriced". Using one of those statements sets you up to ask: "do you currently have life insurance?" Whatever they answer, you respond with "Great!".

Well spoken.

It just seems to me that there is something illogical about an insurance saying "I can save you money" without showing them how using factual information presented logically so they can understand it.

In essence all they are saying when they make that statement is "You can trust me, I'm an insurance agent". I don't think that is readily accepted today, however, I may be wrong.

I don't think I would blow them off and move on to the next prospect, I'm just not that weak and I can be pretty weak at times. However if you are just going after numbers and not really fishing with every lure in your tackle box then this might not be for you, the overcoming objections. I would say there are days when you just don't feel like overcoming objections or your A game just isn't firing on all cylinders.

I think I would have to maybe even say something like, "well I'm sure you sleep better at night knowing you have made a smart decision to own life insurance. The best thing is that you were able to acquire it as some people don't even meet the criteria. If you and I could just take a few minutes and allow me to run some numbers and perhaps save you a significant amount of money would you be willing to give it a try?" (I'm just thinking off the cuff here so bear with me)

This would be followed by my original, "that's great, working with folks who already understand the need is what our/my/I company specializes in.

I sold my first life policy this way. They said they already had life insurance. I was able to get them 200K for the same price they were paying for 50k and I ended up doing an annuity for them as well. On top of it all, the policy was on her and not the husband and he was the bread winner many times over. If something happened to him, she would be out in the street.

Needless to say, I'm happy I didn't blow them off and say next.......so were they I would think.
