Is healthcare a right? Like everything else, there are two sides to the issue.

Rand Paul is correct.

I don't think that there should be a deduction for mortgages either but it doesn't mean I won't take it. No hypocrisy at all.

Get rid of Medicare and I will gladly sell some other product. If the government has something so stupidly designed as Medicare and I can earn a great living helping people, I will.

I'm opposed to the wars but I support our troops. Perhaps liberals think that's hypocritical also.

I agree, but the hypocrisy of liberterians is only outdone by the hypocrisy of liberals....

Liberals think things are good, as long as they don't have to pay for them.

They think various opinions are great, as long as they are the opinion of either a union boss or a liberal leader. No other opinions are allowed to be a liberals own.

Al - you have to get past talking points. Think for yourself for a day, you might actually enjoy life!!!!

Earlier he advocated for the repeal of the civil rights laws, in FAVOR of bringing back slavery.

More lies Al? You've been proven wrong on this, yet you continue with the propaganda.

I think we have to separate a right from a moral obligation. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness says nothing about having a place to live.

So based on this "pure" thinking, the government doesn't have to provide any safety nets and we could drive through cities littered with homeless and hungry people. There have been many example of this in history - reference England or France pre-revolution.

In this example, this extreme mentality was played out. You have the right to "be" - aside from that, go dig through cow sh*t for something to eat and live in a mud hut. Of course, we see how that turned out.

We had a similar mentality during the industrial revolution. People has a right to exist. Past that, suck it. Didn't work out too well.

Remember, the ultra rich are only ultra rich when people can buy their sh*t. When you turn a society into 2% ultra wealthy, a thin middle class and most people are poor, there's not a lot of people to buy what you're selling.

This references health care. The more people who go broke over health care costs, the less people can buy Steve Job's next widget. So Steve Jobs has an express interest in making sure we have a thriving middle class.

I see. You want me to go way off the reservation and accept the Randy Paul "slavery" argument? Is that what you support? Is that what you believe. If so... then maybe you are right... maybe I need to believe it too.. because if there is one truism about Randy... he definitely thinks for himself. No rational person on the planet would agree with him... and no intelligent person could possibly dream up such a ludicrous argument.

Don't accept anything. Understand the point he was making (minus the slavery comment), then either agree or disagree with the premise of the statement, not a word that you might disagree with.

On the other hand, if you want a good weekly laugh, watch some of the stuff Chuck Shumer says. He's always good for an offhanded comment that isn't based in reality.
