New agent vs. old agent. Newer less experienced agents need direction and a home until they become proficient in some key areas. That being said, there are far too many organizations that are all to willing to take advantage of newer agents and their ignorance of both the industry and product. But let's face it, when someone is taking a piece of your pie, if they aren't backing that up with something that is helpful to you and your business, then it's just taking a piece of your pie.

More experienced agents look for ways in which an organization they choose can add to their business without taking too much of their pie. I hate giving away too much of my pie... but I've passed out a bunch pie over the years.

I had a phone interview with one of their agents for about 30 minutes. They did ask me a lot of generic questions about what my strength and weakness were. Told me they wanted me to send them a 1 minute video on why I would be the best candidate for the position. 2nd interview will be in 7 days. They did mention about they want someone to be a team builder and that they send us leads. They work with multiple agencies to sell mortgage protection insurance. They said there is a a very high turn over rate because of agents just trying to business. The red flag for me is when you go to the main site https://www.theshankagency.com/optin and right click Jordan's picture and search that image on google there are 40+ mirrored sites with different names, and some have not paid their click funnel dues so there is a banner blocking the site. https://www.thedelaneyagency.net/optin-page-bd1

Seems like they set you up and let you go, what would be a better company to go work for? I have an interview with farmers coming up, I just don't know what is the best business to partner up with. I would like to work from home talking to leads on the phone. Here is the list of mirror sites, many of the them have been paused. Doesn't look good to me.

What a great way to mislead you into thinking there is a huge lineup wanting to join. You're likely their third contact this year.

Eeeh well you know they're saying what's possible and YEAH! All of that is POSSIBLE! Is that what usually happens? Lol, no. In fact not at all. Its just a shiny object just like every entrepreneur falls into it happens.

Hi Everyone! My name is Jordan Shank leader of the Shank Agency...and the first thing I want to say is that yes... the rumors are true... I am a terrible golfer. I don't know if has anything to do with my last name or maybe just my overall lack of athletic prowess. But yeah, anyone with the last name "Shank" should be very careful before stepping foot on a golf course.

Anyway, I figured I'd come on here and share a bit about my story for anyone that may be looking.

I started in the insurance business in 2013, and dove head first in to advanced markets. Through various connections in that market, I was hired by a large IMO to develop and manage marketing systems that would help them bring in agents. It was an amazing experience and as a company we brought in 1500+ agents in the course of about a year or so.

In 2016, I felt I would have a more fulfilling experience in the business by building an agency for myself, and took a step back from working for an IMO. Thus beginning The Shank Agency. As anyone on this forum can attest, building an agency requires a tremendous amount of dedication and w.o.r.k. But it has been incredibly rewarding.

While we are actively looking for agents who want to get in to the insurance business, we realize it is not a fit for everyone. There are lots of really great "selling systems" out there. Lots of really great IMOs and organizations that can help people succeed. Our agency has a pretty great track record, and we offer a lot to our agents…but we are by no means the only one out there. This field needs good agents who are willing and able to go the extra mile for clients. Sadly the historic reputation of life insurance agents doesn't always align align that.

I'll admit, our website could use some help. We worked with someone years ago to develop that who clearly used it as a template for others. We've been working on it for a while, but it is still a work in progress.

I believe authenticity is something very much lacking in the insurance business and as insuranced2d said, there are a lot of shiny objects out there. We aren't one of them. We've got a great track record and system for supporting agents.

Nope. Not an MLM. And we have no interest in one's friends and family unless an agent wants to offer them coverage.

Life is full of surprises! I will say that although, as I mentioned, I've never known Jordan as an adult, I know his mom and dad to be very respectable, kind, and caring people. Just the kind of folks who would do well in this business.

What makes you think an MLM thrives on selling to friends and family members......otherwise known as "Pity Purchases"? Sales to those outside the opportunity itself are considered a bonus. It's the new recruits themselves who make up the bulk of purchases, whether that be the products, sales/training materials, online access subscriptions, seminars, conferences and conventions. Who better to target than a excited greenhorn, eager to reward their recruiter by demonstrating loyalty by becoming a "product of the product".
