I just got an email from them pushing their new Carrier, 5 star... The web site has the same ole "Rahh Rahh" as all the other IMO's with lead programs... The video on the web site boasts of the DM lead program and let's you know that in your first year, as an AVERAGE producer, you can earn over $90k... ALL agents come in at ENTRY level contracts and can build their agency as large and wide as they desire...lol :D

Are these one of the "Good Guys" or are they one of the scumbag run groups that start the agents at a LOW commission guaranteeing 90% of them to fail out???

There are some older threads on them and nothing really bad to say, from what I recall. I've never worked with them before, but I once spoke with the owner before (Joe Iannelli) and he seemed to me to be a straight shooter. (Caveat emptor, of course.) That was maybe 2 years ago.

I don't know about the new carrier, but unless something has changed they don't start the agents at a very low commission. (I want to say that they were promoting a program with Americo before.) I can't remember what the commission was exactly. It perhaps was not not as high as maybe Todd King or someone else on here would give you but it was much higher than the NAA's of the world would give you.

I talked to him a couple of months ago. He told me he would put me at 100% and pay for my own mailings at $435 per thousand. Just probably doing mass recruiting. I'm sure he is at a 130-140%. Not bad for calling agents and making them pay for everything. Just making up the spread in volume it seems. Didn't seem bad. I'm just able to do better on my own.

That's not bad but I am not sure how you can "build your agency" off of a 100 point contract and a mail drop for $435... Sounds like a LOT of out of pocket expenses that ANY agent can do a little better with by just doing a little research...

I mean, any new agent can go to OXFORD life and get a 120 point contract and do mail drops for around $420 per thousand...

I agree. That's why I didn't join. I'm not for sure that's what he is doing, but there was no additional incentive to go that route and change what I already have going.

The support is the difference.

I very much doubt he's at 140% and even 130% might be a bit generous. As is often the case, that's carrier dependent.

5-Star is definitely worth having if you are focused on FE. Better commissions are available though.
