Through the years

the sales industry is not for the faint of heart. me think you need to grow a pair

Are people hiding it? I thought that was kosher by forum standards??

I don't know if I would ever personally take that risk. But we have a downline agency that does.

He gives out 60% and not only free fresh mortgage protection leads, but then he runs a cal center and sets the appointments for the agents.

As they produce, he ramps them up.

He and his wife were very wealthy from real estate before getting into insurance. The guys smart as a whip. Like a masters in Engineering.

...and may I ask... how many years has his most senior agent been with him? That`s the proof I look for...

JD is about as close minded as anyone I've seen. He thinks there is only one way to sell FE...his and Travis' way.

I do not think that JD thinks that there is only one way to sell FE, but I do think he believes that there is one way that is likely more likely to lead an agent to success than any other. The fact that most IMO's on here teach their agents to do exactly what JD does sort of kind of indicates that JD is right.

Also, JD will tell you that his presentation isn't the only way to present successfully. Tim Winder's presentation was undeniably successful. But JD does it his own way, not Winder's way. But JD will certainly tell anyone that Tim Winders sold a boatload of FE (and by "boatload" I mean QE2 Boatload sized).

So JD is probably more "open minded" than you credit him for being. I'd say he is likely a good bit more opened minded than you yourself are on a number of insurance biz issues, Todd.

I used to argue with JD all the time about that. It's not so much that he feels there's only one way to sell FE. I told him that I sold my 1st FE policy over 30 years ago, and the only thing that's changed since then is the way it's MARKETED. He said, "finally, you understand where I'm coming from". He told me after leaving the Forum that people don't understand that he's referring to the marketing of FE. And yes, JD is a stubborn, hard-headed Hillbilly, but after despising each other for a couple of years...we like each other now.

It seems to me if you care that you give agents a chance to succeed in this business... you tend to be a bit passionate about how they approach the way in which they work... often to the point that you care more than they do... done this way long enough, you do get bullheaded about a lot of things...

Let's be honest... most bring people on... then watch them fail and go get the next batch...

That gets old... who wants to feel responsible (even though you really aren't) for that...

I think that is way some folks get very passionate about how they approach much of what they do... they have seen it work... they know it works... they a have worked it... and to help others be successful they feel strongly about the path they set up for them... and to me that is admirable... though I might not always agree...
