To FMO or IMO

I will keep this short and sweet. I am a newly independent agent. I have been able to keep my previous book of business and am in a quandary about what to do next. My primary question is , " should i find an FMO, IMO or neither?". More over, is it necessary ?

FMO and IMO are the same thing. Some companies let you go direct. It depends on whether or not you need your hand held.
