To Stay or Go

What I really need is training being a career changer with very little natural market in Texas.

There is no comparison in compensation as long as meet NYL production requirements.

I'm still feeling condlicted.

Every agency will pay you if you produce.

You need to interview them and ask them this question:

"I'm new in town... and I have no "friends and family" to sell or ask referrals from. How would you train me to get started to find people to work with?"

If they say "We'll cover that in training"... that's not good enough. You MUST know in advance at least a general idea how they'll train you to make money today.

Years ago I interviewed at a NYL agency, and the managing partner at the time had an agent that went door-to-door. He promised me that I'd get a chance to talk to him and learn from him. If you don't ask, you won't receive what you need.

NYL is very regimented, from my understanding. However, if you don't fit their mold, they may not bring you on-board anyway.
