Trying to Help an Old Guy Get a Full DB

There's an older gentleman that I've known for 2 or 3 years that I'm trying to help. He was sold a Monu GDB at age 69. He had no idea it was a graded policy. I told him I would try to get him a full DB plan somewhere. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it. I have Settlers and was thinking of the Silver II plan (he's a NS) but the meds would be considered treatment.

He's 70 now and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure almost 4 years ago. His meds at the time (listed on the app) are:

Nifedicil 60mg/day
Glipizide 5mg/day
Lisinopril 40mg/day

I'm assuming he's still taking the same meds, this app was written last February.

Any ideas on a company that would take him on an immediate benefit? He's paying 91 bucks now on just over 6K. I'd like to get him a better deal. He about fell over when I told him that if he died today the plan would only pay 1200. I don't think there is a way to help this guy but I said I'd try. Thanks for anyone giving any input on this.

If he's pretty healthy besides the oral diabetic meds (cant be on insulin) & CHF...then Monu will take him on their standard plan.

He can get $9000k Full immediate DB policy for $91!

I love how different insurance companies view insureds...pretty healthy w/ CHF and Diabetes? Looks o.k. to us! :twitchy:

I joke but I am glad that these people can still get coverage. The only issue I see is the same problem we have on the retirement income side...."but what if they live?"

He said mon life is who issued the GDB he already has so they already looked at him and the GDB was what they offered

You can't get him first day full coverage. You can get him a much better price on what he has through MOO or Vantis.

Kemper would give him 20% on his money first 2 years with a decent prem. Otherwise if Prem is the main factor go with Vantis.

Thanks for the input, guys. Whereas I like the rates of Vantis their chargeback policy is scary. Since I know this guy I wouldn't mind contracting with MoO just to help him out. Well, yea, the comm wouldn't hurt, either. Would one of you that has MoO look up his rates? He's 70 and has 6K now. I could sell him on replacing one GDB for another but I'd want to either save him a good chunk of change or give him more DB for the same money. He'd rather have more then 6K, he thought he had 7 before. So, I'd like to know what his prem would be for 7K and also what his DB would be for his same prem of 91.00.

Side question: If I was to get MoO how would that complement what I already have after this one case is over? I now have Oxford, RNA, Monu, and Settlers.

Thanks

Edit: Oh yea, I did look up the rates of Settlers Bronze and I can do him a little better, I could give him 7K for 94.43 but I'd like to give him better than that.

Actually, the agent that wrote him last Feb put him on this plan and never completed the Monu app on section C. I don't know meds much so if all those meds I listed are not for CHF then that other agent may have done him a disservice. But, hell, all "other" agents do that, right?
