Under 65 Med Sup in GA?

United American is the only one and it's Plan B (I think). It's also somewhere between $225-$250 a month (again, I think). This is what it was a few years ago the last time I checked.

The Georgia DOI website SUCKS. I have written emails and made phone calls and finally they just removed the Medicare Supplement information while they are "working to improve it".

Thanks "Guys".... I didn't think to check Ritters:idea: Quote engine until after my post. It came up with United Commercial Travelers of America for a plan F ($227.89 + $1.50PF/ Mo.)for this 57 yr old male with disabilities. His medicare goes into effect 8/1/09. He dropped his BCBS he's been paying 1000/mo. same 8/1/09 date. Do Ya'll know if he is guarenteed issue? BTW Dade county GA.

I have a call in for Ritter to call in the morning.

Thanks again for all the "over time" you guys and this fourm do.

sman, I have found myself writing emails and making calls to Ga DOI is a waste---------they dont return phone calls

all last week i tried to find out even what carriers sell Sup in Ga and after having to wait 48 hours + for even a call back they claim they dont have that info which of course we dont believe (Thanks M&M--call myself checking here before jacking around with DOI but guess I didnt drill down deep enough--unfortunate we cant get comparative rates in Ga from our DOI)

I called the Admin dept last Thursday and left messages for 2 specific people and as of today neither has or will call me back

I wrote an email to Oxendine last Friday complaining about his department and lack of mangagement and non service and told him it appears his entire dept has gone on a Mourning Michael Jackson Holiday / work stoppage for the month--------havent gotten any response from him either which would explain same non-interest from his people---------guess hes has no time for his DOI responsibilitie since hes running for Governor

Yes its a joke ---no returned calls, no service at all and claims they dont have a listing of Sup cos selling there

Ok off to email Oxendine again threatening to complain about him to the AJC letters to editor if wants to ignore complaints and offer no assistence getting basic info.

My first couple of emails got responses like:

"We are working to make improvements to our website....blah, blah, blah"

Several months later I received the e-newsletter from Oxendine's office and he was touting the "Excellent" rating his office received in reference to their Auto & Homeowners section of the website so I sent another email.

This time I got a different response. I wish I still had the email so I could post the text of it, but I have since deleted it. The person was very understanding and claimed to be working to get the issue resolved. For those that don't know, they had carriers listed that haven't been writing Med Supps in the state of Georgia in over a decade. They also had rates for some carriers that hadn't been updated since 1997. It was impossible to get any accurate rate information.

The reason you see the statement on the website in the Medicare Supplement rate section that is there now is due to these emails. This took place in March of this year. So now they've had 4 months to work on it and still nothing. I don't expect to see anything anytime soon. Maybe once he is out of office the next commissioner will be more concerned with the 1 million senior citizens in this state who vote.

I truly hope Oxendine is not the Republican candidate for Governor.
