Is it normal for a fully underwritten policy to take 4-5 weeks to issue or is my company just slow at getting it done?

Actually, that seems fast. It's going to depend on several factors like age of the applicant, health of the applicant and so on. The norm for my applicants is two to three months. An APS on average eats 30 days up. The paramed can eat up weeks. If your underwriting is turning around your apps in 4- 5 weeks, you're golden. I have one that just finished underwriting Friday, we have a week left until we have to take a new app and we've had an age change as well. I would kill for 4-5 weeks.
m going to start focusing on FE as my primary market from here on out because I heard those policy's issue much quicker than 4-5 weeks.
