United Health Care Product

I'm having a hard time picking this one out, but a customer I'm talking to, says that he pays $60/month with UnitedHealthCare (but he doesn't know what product) and they pay for prescriptions and all deductibles.

He's saying that nobody has come close to beating him, and I'm wondering if it's just a simple Medicare Part D plan? If so, what deductibles could he be referring to?

I mean there is no way this could be a medigap plan, right (for $60/month)?

66,
I do not know what rates are charged in your state, but it could possibly be a med sup plan A,K or L, or a High deductible F/J, but he WILL be paying $$$ out of his pocket...more than likely thought, it is an MA or MAPD

I don't think I've ever seen a UHC (AARP) plan offering rates this low. The lowest rates I've seen with med supp are low 80's. This would blow it away...it must be a MA

I have a gal in Delray Beach who claims a guy in her seminar told everyone that he has an American Republic MedSupp for just 2,000 bucks per year. She's got National States at 2,700 bucks. How can this be possible?

aarp offers supplements at $80/month?? Which ones?

and what does MA mean? (I'm not used to abbreviations)
btw I'm in IL, I don't know if that helps anyone pin this down.

Call AARP and get a quote.

I'm looking at their website and the only quote that matches up with what he said is Plan K....what the hell....Everything else is basically double the premium!

Plan K does not cover prescriptions and would cause him to have some out of pocket expense. It only covers 50% of the Part A deductible, none of the Part B deductible and none of the Part B excess charges (this would only be relevant if the doctors wanted to bill the additional 15%).

In looking over the Medicare site for plans in Illinois, there is no AARP MA plan with a $60 monthly premium. They have 6 plans with a zero premium, one with a $35 and another with an $85 premium.

I think he may be a little confused about what he actually has or possibly just not being truthful with you.

And the answer is;

Ask him to show you his ID card -- assuming he has one!

His ID card will have everything you'll need to know in order to look-up his coverage information.
