Unlicensed CSR I Need Help!

I'm an unlicensed CSR. I was hired as part time for clerical. I have since had to start working full time and doing everything I should not be doing being unlicensed. We recently had an office manager (licensed) fired for fraudulent activity. The agent is always manipulating polices and doing things that should not be done. I do not do any of those things, but I do quote, take payments, change coverages, change vehicles, add/remove people, basically everything but bind. Since this firing, I have now been given everything she did. Which includes and is not limited to: rmbc, t-docs, retention, renewals, etc. Our agent told us our office was being watched so we needed to make sure we were doing things "correctly". I then said, well be unlicensed, I should not be doing what i'm doing. He said "no no that's ok im not worried about that". I am fed up as of today, today I was left at our office, by myself, with nobody licensed. (my agent has 2 offices and has plenty of licensed staff at the other office). I am paid very well so that is not the reason. Basically, he is in a pickle with being short staffed and hasn't hired nor will move licensed staff from the other office. I know this is all for sure probably very illegal and I just don't feel right about this and feel im putting myself on the line. My question: how can I file an anonymous complaint? I obviously do NOT want to call and tell corporate what is going on, I want it to be anonymous and could have possible been a complaint from a customer who tried to start a policy or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im about to shut the office down early because I am so upset at being left alone.

Sounds like they're putting all the risk on you while taking all the reward. And you don't seem to have the guts to do anything about it, but want to file an anonymous complaint?

And your solution is to lie and make it seems like it's from a customer? This is the real world. Grow a pair and take action or deserve the consequences.

That's what successful people do.

What you're doing could result in you never being able to get a license. Why not have someone from the other office fill in for you while you go to a licensing school one week, take the tests, and get your licenses? You don't indicate what state you're in...check out the penalties for servicing insurance without a license in your state.

Don't freak out, worst case scenario (first offense) is he gets slapped with a fine from the DOI. By your word choice here, it's clear this is an Allstate office. They would have a huge problem if he didn't have 1 licensed staff in the office.

You must not be logging in as yourself b/ their system would recognize you're not licensed & not allow endorsements.

Here's what I suggest - Stop processing any policy changes & do not discuss coverage's. Explain you are not comfortable performing these tasks until you're licensed. The odds of you personally getting in trouble are almost nill....but the stupid card won't work forever so take action now.

It's pathetic he's willing to risk his agency & himself...so that's a red flag. But, unfortunately, many agents aren't managers (they're just good sales guys.)

I'm going to guess he will respect your assertions & get you licensed.

I think the very obvious solution here is to get a license. End of story, problem solved.

Unless you CAN'T get a license? Then the hard truth is that you should maybe not be working in insurance.

Agree with the post above. If the person cannot pass the test they most likely do not have what takes to work in the industry, and it's even scarier if the person is ineligible to get a state license.

you have a good opportunity, take a on line course and get your
licensed. do you job. and don.t complain.
