Venting, Just Had the Biggest Ass of a Walk in

I agree with most of the above comments:
NO SCHMUCK is going to come into MY place of business and treat me like a dirtbag....where I PAY the effing rent? ?
Are you crazy.....business card, he'd be LUCKILY he didn't get a foot up his azz.

Ok, I'm joking (a little) about the foot but in all fairness IT IS OK to say 'NOT YOU' when it comes to clients or prospects.

If the 'writings on the wall' right in your face why not just say 'NO THANKS'.... I'll pass on doing business with, you it's obvious WE don't/can't communicate well with each other, so let's call it a day...Don't call me and I won't call you (as you open the door for this s.o.b. to LEAVE)

Trust me FIRING a problem-child 'feels' GOOD...
it's better than letting an a-hole get under your skin

If one of us is going to have an unpleasant memory, we BOTH will.
Back when I ran appointments (not just insurance)...
I used to LOVE to piss off a guy in his own home, after he TRIED to be the dick to me....I'd say or do something that made him feel or look STUPID.
(No money was being made so, may as well 'practice' some OUTRAGEOUS chit, right (some times the a-hole even bought, after I became the DICK...go figure)

Mix in a few sales before the week was over and I loved my job, making money and pissing off jerks in their own homes...GOOD TIMES!!!!!!!!!

*Point being grown men SHOULD be required to treat you like a human being or get their 'feelings' hurt, when you 'stand 'em up'.

If the girl at the Post Office or the DMV doesn't have to take chit, neither should YOU...
I know damn well I wouldn't pay bills AND get 'chit on' by customers in a country with 300m f--ckers to choose from?

The beauty of being independent is you can tell him "I don't want to do business with you"

Some people are very spoiled by the way some businesses run and tolerate any sort of behavior for fear of being reprimanded by their bosses

All the more reason to work for yourself. The first time I was in this rodeo I was captive and had to watch myself. This time around if someone is like that I'll just give them the bosses number.....which is me. :D

Advice and comments noted, I probably wasted too much energy and effort on this guy. I really wanted to tell him, ok sorry sir we don't do that kind of auto insurance here.

I didn't want him going out and spreading lies ruining my credibility or rep.

At the point where he took his info off my desk and said give me back my info, that was the point where I go ok I wouldn't even do your business. I wanted to throw some knowledge at him and make him feel dumb but lol he just ended up getting more flustered and annoyed. Don't know why he stayed seated though and continued to talk to me.

I really wanted to ask him to leave, but I have a hard time saying get out of my office lol.

I must say being in business in NYC, I have encountered some of the weirdest problems and me some of the most brain dead prospects.
