War on agents

It would still cost a fair bit for a fake home business's self employment taxes and ACA even at the lowest premium with the out of pocket - that would have still eaten up a good chunk (not to mention living expenses - with the chemo killing almost all of my bone marrow I couldn't work for a while - fortunately for me it recovered). But this is all water under the bridge and in the past.
You don't fake - u start a home-based business and work it.

Yes starting a home based business would make sense presuming you could actually come out ahead. More money is good.

I learned about some people faking this when someone I know did this to get the maximum single head of household tax refund. I found out who the tax preparer was and turned them both in for tax fraud (tax preparer charged her $1k to do this). They were working together to find the max she could get and yet not be high enough to pay state taxes so the state wouldn't catch it and cut her food stamps (this state SNAP and TANF can look at your state taxes). Yes the minor kids were real, yes her real income was low for a family that size (there is a database all W2 income and 1099 income is reported to so people can't lie about having no W2/1099 job/icome but self employment is still an issue)- but it was lower than what she was claiming. Sigh.

Other things Annon123 turns people in for? I'll start, grass being an inch too high.

How much did you get for snitching? 10%?

Well then I blew it for me and didn't get the money. I did it anonymously over the phone to the IRS and nothing was volunteered about that. But it wasn't not paying taxes which is what this seems to be about. It was claiming fake income, paying taxes on that, to get a single head of household tax refund (which was bigger than taxes paid and tax professional fees).
