Weaned off Suboxin 12months. Insurable?

I have a 45 year old upstanding hardworking client who had a work injury on a construction site, was disabled 11 months due to surgeries. He realized he was hooked on pain pills, went to an Addiction Specialist on his own to get off, was given Rx Suboxin for a couple years, realizing that was another addiction, found another Addiction Specialist who got him OFF Suboxin. He is doing fantastic.
He tried to get Life Insurance after he got off Suboxin, but was declined. It has now been about 14 months. He is healthy and needs $500,000 life insurance; some term, some IUL or UL Guarantee to Age 120. Any help to which companies would welcome him?

The issue I see here is 14 months. Just not long enough for many carriers. I'm an FE guy, so could be wrong.

I had a client in a very similar scenario, took about 5 years off the suboxone and finally was able to get him a standard rate on a $3M term plan.
