Websites - What to Use?

Yea, that isn't all an ambigous at all as a title....

What I mean is do you create your own site or purchase from a company that does sites for insurance agents?

I've done websites in the past but the graphics are beyond my ability as a rule, using Dreamweaver CS3 [which is woefully out of date].

Just curious what you all do and any providers you might suggest I can take a look at.

Thanks!

Hey there! Glad you are adding web presence to your agency.

I actually host and design websites for insurance agents. PM me if you want more info.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,

Love too but with only 10 posts thus far I can't PM you or send you an email through the forum. Please feel free to drop me an email at northshorerich at gmail dot com.

I have around 100 sites and absolutely love the wordpress engine. It's very easy to work with if you're a beginner and it can be used to make some very powerful sites.

Another thing that's cool about it is that it's cheap to setup and super cheap. If you chat with Bob and want to get a second opinion feel free to get in touch with me. There is a lot of support for WordPress all over the place and many different looks (themes) to choose from. I'm trying to get together a plan for like $79 to start and $5/month including setup and everything, but I have been too busy to flesh that out and start marketing it.

To compare the dreamweaver to WordPress, it's apples compared cheeseburgers. Wordpress is a total solution that can let you tap into a great deal of free and premium resources to make fully functional sites very inexpensively.

I agree with Josh about wordpress. Absolutely love the flexibility of all the themes and plugins.

I do have a question for you Josh... wow.. 100 sites. Do you have a blog network? How many different hosting accounts are needed for the sites?

Surprisingly I don't have a blog network (haven't been working on one yet). I could have them all on a single account, but I have three. I may be adding more because it is my intention to keep adding sites, but so far so good.
