Went Door Knocking Today

I can't imagine how she could be paying over eight thousand dollars a year for Medicare Part B.

Why would anyone on Medicare want to drop Part B? Something ain't right.

I am guessing she was combining her and her husband when she said over $8,000 for part B. You don't have to imagine this - she is clearly in the top tax bracket -$350/month

Why would someone drop Part B? Coverage through employer.

I went out again today for a couple hours. Wrote a Med Supp at the first door I knocked on.

Congrats on your success with door knocking! I love door knocking, much more than using the telephone. I only door knock when I have a response card.

Are you going up completely cold, with no response cards or referrals or anything?

Go out cold. No one gets offended. I knock DNC's since no one can call them. They'e not getting bombarded every half hour with an agent calling & asking about medicare. At the door I ask if they've made any decision about medicare; the answer will be yes, no or looking. Reply appropriately, but I usually ask if it's ok to give them a call to see what their schedule looks like next week. That way I now have them off the DNC for the next 90 days since I have their permission to call them. Sometimes I get an invite in right there & once & a while write a sup at the same time. At the very least I call & set an appt. Works great. Just remember, it's like being on the phone - it's a numbers game. Sometimes you're the bug & sometimes you're the windshield. But if you do it consistantly it's a winner.

Great job, isn't this business fun.

I think door-knocking is underrated. I personally do it and introduce the style to other agents. I don't worry about the wrong people answering the door as I knock in wealthy neighborhoods. With them it is either "wasn't my driveway gate locked!?" or "come on in and give me a fresh idea."
Went knocking yesterday (cold, no cards or mail-in) & walked into a new F plan - $777 comish straight up! (we'll see if it sticks with all the new prices coming out). Gonna remedy that soon - not going to stick around to get beat up by other companies. Gonna join the indy pack. Wish me luck.

I also have a flourescent orange mail-in card to leave in the door of people who are not home.

Whats your return on those orange cards? What do they say?

0%, because I have never used them. I made them and put them on the shelve. I just figured that it would be something to let people know that I was there. Send me your email and I will send you a copy.

how do you determine where you are going to doorknock ?

Knock on all of them, and be prepared to sell other products, depending on who answers the door. I door knocked for 1 day and realized that I was too lazy to do it every day and I didn't trust the dogs, as a matter of fact, if there was a fenced in yard, I bypassed it.
I am in no shape to excercise....:D

A case in point regarding door knocking. About 3 years ago Verizon's FIOS came into our area. To get people to switch, Verizon:

A) Send mailers
B) Telemarketed
C) Contracted with a door-to-door company

C would be the correct answer.

I used to leave something at the door if they didn't answer. Guess what? They still didn't answer!
