What Auto Limits U Write!

100/300/100 min. If they want to but lower limits they will have to buy it from somebody else.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I do a lot of home+auto packages and some of the carriers offer cheaper rates here in NC with 100/300/100 than 50/100/50 because the 100/300 is the preferred coverage for the package.

The only time I quote anything less than 100/300 is to show the clients the rates apples to apples to what they currently have. Once they know if we're cheaper, same price, more expensive, etc. I tell them "this is what you have now, but I think we can do better to protect you" and bump it up to 100/300 or higher. It helps the client see that we're competitive but also there to look out for them.

flo will go, as low as she can go... say it an't so

Just pick your price!

I've noticed a few of my customers that I wrote with Progressive with higher limits have lowered them, by calling Progressive directly, and some now even have no BI on the policy! I'm wondering if the CSR's at Progressive are offering it this low when my customers call in because it is on more than 1 occasion. Also, I wonder if this could bite me on my E&O. I doubt it since I have a signed app with higher limits, but still worry about it.

The state minimum here in Georgia is 25/50/25, but the lowest we will write is 50/100/50. I automatically quote 100/300/100 or 250/500/100 and strongly encourage customers not to go any lower.

Increasing limits from 50/100/50 to 100/300/100 only increases the premium by $30-$40 in most cases! It's crazy not to carry higher limits, IMO.
