What Contracts Does EFES Offer Starting Out?

What would be the highest for the lead program? Carrier specific? We are an agency.

Starting new, probably around 85% to 90% FYC contracts.

RNA, AmAm, UHL, Americo, Foresters, Monu are the main carriers through EFES.

Take my advice. Pick 2 of those carriers (Monu and UHL) and test drive EFES with them. Otherwise you'll get locked into a 6 month non-release status with all you're contracted with.

AND -- try to get contracted directly with the EFES regional manager -- IE, Joe, Travis, Shannon. You don't want more middleman managers taking an extra 5 to 10 points off you.

Efes usually will not allow an agent to come on any lower than 80%. And they will give you 2 writing numbers with each carrier so that you can have a retail number and a WS number. They don't feel that they should be entitled to a huge override if they didn't help generate the business, so thats why they give each agent a WS number. So if you had a 90% on the retail side, you would have a 110% on the WS side. So as you can see that's pretty fair.

Reardon,
I don't have 20 posts so can't PM you but would like to get in touch to ask a few quick questions if it's not too much trouble. I've read your posts and appreciate your balanced opinions. Any chance you could PM me to initiate a conversation?
Thanks.

Dave,
I'll have to find another way. Forum won't allow even responding to a PM at this point until 20 posts.
Thanks.

I've heard anywhere from 80% to 100% - is this accurate?

One manager starts new agents at 90% on the lead program. The others are lower.

You can get to 100% with production. Might can even start at over 90% with proven production, I did.

These are the retail contracts when on the lead program. Broker contracts are 110 to 120%.

I would also echo what Reardon said about contracing direct with one of the regikonal directors. Cut out any middle men.

Rule of thumb is when contracting through EFES, contact Travis Tubbs; he actually produces for a living in conjunction with management and actually pays better than the rest of the EFES managers (with production proof, as JD stated).

Reardon,
Any chance you could PM your personal email address? Your initial situation is similar to ours. Have a few questions if that's okay.
Thanks.
