What does the next Iteration of the FMO market look like if the new rule sticks?

He had a running start, he bought out his dad and sister in the family biz bobby Brock Insurance, and blew it up in a good way. The money to the fmo has been shut off, any idea who bought him? I know he ripped on brindle big time for selling, lol brindle got similar money.. I also know fmo’s are looking to buy books of biz and prices are on the raise

Brock sold to Amerilife . Brindle peeled off his University and combined with Shelton . Now there pushing leads , va’s the university, fe and more . I love Brindles university sales pitch . It’s $600 for 5 days vs $4 k regular . This is the last time ever it will be this cheap . He pulls the same bs sale 5 times a yr . I did like would Brock saying he not addicted ti insurance . After door knocking for a few yrs he changed his thought process to approaching this as a scaleable business . He said he’s not involved in training or many things anymore . He has people who do all that

You’re correct it’s not going anywhere . But it’s very uncertain how or if the agents involved 2 plus yrs from now . Carriers like Aetna and Humana have already said they don’t care if enrollments drops 10% next yr . So why would they want to really pay stout commissions on. New business ?

Ok I am confused why you think this is strange?

I have seen so many cycles with MA plans

It seems to me with Med Supp a carrier will come in with very low premiums for 3 or so years and then they close that block and raise rates so the healthy ones move

same thing with MA I have seen the best plans in various states take in most of the enrollments for 3 or so years and then they want to drop that block so they drop benefits and raise copays

Only difrence now is there was a gold rush on benefits since covid but now these carriers want to dump that block

whatever reason it is maybe too much on claims I don't know the science on it, But is the cycle

The only difrence now is it is in all areas at once and has been delayed because of the covid rush

So instead of a some in 2019 some in 2020 and so forth its all now in all areas at once

we all had to know there would be a pull back at some point, as far as benefits and plans on a large scale

You didnt think it would continue forever

The cycle has always been to build then dump 3 or so years later and then rebuild

Same place Medicare bob sold to,

Don with all due respect, you haven’t been in the MAPD business long enough. Plans have been way worse then today and still paid commission.

You’re a rook in the biz

Chazm remember the UHC Secure Horizons Regional PPO in Florida that had 250 day 1-10 hospital copay 20% for OP and diagnostic and 15 pcp and 45 or 50 specialist 6700 MOOP with rx deductible and no dental, eye glasses or fitness etc. Still sold a bunch of it in 2006-2007 era.Still have some people on that UHC Regional PPO from 2007 that refuse to change.

I started in Feb of ‘09 so before my time. But in that year UHC was a tad bit better and still did a lot of it.
And in FL we’ll still have big part B refund plans. The other states? Oh well.

Brock is basically saying, if I understand correctly, that FMOs will get some $, but not in the same way (volume), and agencies "between" agent and FMO are pretty much not getting an "override."

And it will be very few fmo’s, some may choose to bring all training. Contracting and agent service in-house and cut out the fmo completely

I’m sure Amerilife does aca or many of the fmo’s under them do . I’m direct with all my aca carriers . I’ve read so many horror story’s if you go under an fmo in aca the carriers won’t pay direct . Many of the fmo’s screw you . I refuse to wrote a plan not paid direct from carrier . Years ago I had a bad experience with a big aca fmo who I went under for lead flow .When I filled the intake form out they tried to contract me with 5 carriers without my permission .It was a mess . You need heavy Facebook lead flow to make big money in aca .Honestly the Wild West days of past with no call leads is over for the most part . Thats how guys were doing huge vol . I read the other day in the first 3 months of the year over 40 k complaints were filed against agents . Most were for unauthorized switching of plans . Hell last month I replaced a carrier with another . It’s a long time insured I have with another product . The agent of the other plan resubmitted my app to steal the Aor. He had no consent form .
