Yes, you read that correctly - what is the Pluvial Peril? Never heard of it, me neither.

According to wikipedia, pluvial "is either a modern climate characterized by relatively high precipitation, or an interval of time of variable length – decades to thousands of years – during which a climate is characterized by either relatively high precipitation or humidity."

According to the Wall Street Journal - "Swiss Re, for instance, last year started considering pluvial—that is, heavy rainfall, similar to the recent European floods—flood zones when assessing risks." Source.

Swiss Re has an entire article dedicated to it: The Threat From Above: Pluvial Flooding
"A common misconception about flood is that you must be located near a body of water to be at risk. But a pluvial flood can happen in any location, urban or rural; even in areas with no water bodies in the vicinity.

A pluvial flood occurs when an extreme rainfall event creates a flood independent of an overflowing water body."
