I don't see much money in WC in Florida anymore. In 05 and 06 we made a killing then everything changed. Its possible to make money in any line of business if you are an expert in a certain field, but if I were new in the business, I don't think my focus would be WC.

WC has been a difficult thing for us to place. Our standard carrier has increased their WC guidelines to 75k in annual payroll. While to those of you that write a lot of commercial businesses, it doesn't sound like much, but when we have a farmer that has a couple hired hands that work seasonally, they don't touch the 75k in payroll. So, this kicks it to a stand-alone WC carrier or the pool, neither which are enjoyable...premium wise.

Commercial lines are Very Profitable but are a lot of work! If you can keep them after the renewal date then the real profit begins
