Who do you have E & O WIth?

I am waiting for my fingerprints to come back from IdentoGo, I am moving my Resident License from Georgia to Louisiana. I was fingerprinted on Oct 17th and still waiting, frustrating!!!

I agree.

Which is why I chalk it up to a necessary business expense, but I wouldn't overthink carriers.. just because it's rare to have a claim if you're doing a decent job AND it's even rarer to have a claim that's covered.

Semantics aside, if that's your perspective, then make it a non-necessary expense, and drop it. Inferring that it's rare for legitimate carriers to cover a claim is a fallacious argument at best in my experience. I've been an expert witness in countless E&O mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial, and actual trials. They all went that far because the carrier covered the claim.

I've seen cases where a claim is made and it's not covered, but it's been very clear as to why. E&O is necessary regardless of the job one does. I've seen top professionals with complaints, suits, etc. -- and it was not because they did a bad job. People can make up all the excuses they want as to why E&O rarely pays. So if anyone believes that, go drop it.

I've heard the same rhetoric about umbrella insurance.

Saying an insurance company wants to maximize profits and tying that to paying claims and using words like rare is absurd. OK, they would be more profitable if they paid less claims. Right. Connect the ludicrous dots.
