Not if he was going to vote for Obama. I agree, if someone doesn't vote who wasn't going to vote for Obama, that's just like a vote for him. But in this case, sounds like John may have been considering a vote for Obama. If my choice is having him vote for Obama or not vote at all, I'll take him not voting at all.

I would have titled it "WHOM do you think...." which is the traditionally accepted usage, however "who" has become a generally acceptable substitute for "whom" in modern lingual discourse.

I wish you would have added an "undecided" choice since this poll is a snapshot of how people feel now... nine months before election day and perhaps some people have not made up their mind.

Or you could have titled it "... should be our next president as of today" to better qualify the answers.

Personally, whether Romney or Obama is elected, it won't make much if any difference, in my view. And I don't believe anyone other than Romney can get the nomination of the Republican party.

Any the reason for this unnecessary insult was?

How about none of the above? Who I would really like to see as president? Mitch Daniels! He would be the best choice to get our ecomony and budget on the right track.

Why should I vote for Romney? He implemented "Obamacare" in 2006 in Massachusetts. His official position on health care is "let the states deal with it." I don't agree with how MA handled it.

That's not a solution. The states have had countless years to "deal with it" and most came up a goose egg. States have implemented an insane level of mandates (MD is 56 and counting) and many states don't have a risk pool.

So I'd like to see a more coherent plan for health care reform from Romney. While I'm against PPACA, I'm a huge fan of the PCIP. People who are willing to pay for coverage should be able to get coverage regardless of their health status - same way it worked for states, like MD, that had working risk pools before PPACA.

John:

I'm having surgery on Saturday and will hit my OOP of $5K. Is there a PCIP type of plan that will pay my share of cost?

I'm willing to pay regardless of my health status.

Rick

Question:

Can you get job with group benefits, wait for them to kick in, get that expensive surgery and quit?

I have no skills to get a job. Plus, shouldn't I just be able to send the bill to Obama?

Seriously John, I think you fail to understand the basis of insurance. It's to protect for an UNFORSEEN occurance. PCIP is for people who are already sick so their costs are not unforseen.

You would object to buying auto insurance after the accident. Why would you be so in favor of buying health insurance after one is sick? I can't image it's because of the $100 you got for this program in MD.

Don't know Rick - love the way MD has operated ever since I became an agent. Insurable? I'll write a policy. Uninsurable? I'll write MHIP and earn $100 and they get coverage regardless of their condition. And MHIP is operates in the black. I'm not for any system where people with conditions cannot get insurance. Period.

(BTW: I'd also write MHIP for free.)

And while you can't get car insurance after an accident in MD, you can absolutely get it regardless of your driving record through MAIF: https://www.maif.net/emaif/

Question. What is the pre-ex waiting period on MHIP for someone enrolling without prior creditable coverage? Just curious.
