Words of Wisdom

Let's just say one of your kids (son or daughter) decided they wanted to become an insurance agent specializing in final expense...

Without the usual negative Nellies chiming in (and they know who they are)

If there was ONE piece of advice you could give them, what would it be? And again, those known nasty negative Nellies; please don't respond.

You have to WORK.
This is a JOB.

No one cares if you don't work except the bank and your parents. The bank will take your house and car and you will be having mommy and daddy take you everywhere and living in the basement or garage.

WORK WORK WORK

One piece of advice...don't do it.

Seriously though...as said above...work...sun up til sun down until you have enough money to do whatever you want.

A Good Work Ethic A Good Attitude alot of leads and a good Presentation will do the trick!

Really that's the key. And a lot more leads will make up if you're lacking in any of the other areas lol.

Most of what they^^^^^said, plus you must be willing and able to invest in a steady flow of leads from day 1. Leads are the absolute life blood of this business. If you get in front of the people on a regular and consistent basis, you will succeed.

Nothing really to add here, especially Shannon. If anything, I would pay particular attention to the "good presentation" part of his post. Really put the work in mastering your presentation. Memorize and practice it. Great presentations lead to sales.

Plus, leads are expensive. A new agent usually can't afford to waste them giving half baked presentations. A good or bad start can make or break you. Good luck!:)

Turn them onto this forum!!!!! You need to make sure that he or she isn't with a company like lincoln heritage or a MLM. I think that this is the most important thing to be honest....

Also, sometimes this job requires long days. So, for extra energy, cocaine or adderrall really helps...

Asking for advice and then requiring it to only be positive is like asking someone to help build a fire and then not tell you that you have set you pants leg on fire.

I would say having a steady supply of leads is far more important than the presentation.
