Working for multiple Agencies

Unless you’re getting world class training and your leads paid for, you need to fight like hell to retain your independence. The business world is filled with companies looking to treat independent contractors as employees when it is convenient. If you are an independent agent, you do not work for your FMO. Your FMO works for you. Avoid situations like the plague that try to rob you of your independence.

This includes FMO’s that don’t release, carriers that won’t pay you directly, and any agency that ever insinuates in their diction that you work for them instead of vice versa.
