67 yr old male, smoker, had a stroke 16 months ago and takes plavix...checking to see if any vets out here can point out a carrier that would do 1st day on him incase i am missing something. i went through a few apps and all that i am comming up with is graded at best with amcon because the stroke being inside of 24 months.

Your gonna be stuck with Graded or Modified plans till the 24 months comes up. Then you will have many carriers to choose from.

i spoke to the son..he is wanting 20k because of the amount of debt that his dad has...i don't want overthink this, but i am wondering if i should write the full 20 now as graded,or write just enough to cover funeral expenses now and the rest to cover debts when he is eligible for 1st day and a lower rate come Feb which is only 7 months away. if i write the full 20 now, wouldn't that be easy to replace by another agent after feb?(assuming his health remained the same)

Call a bankers life agent. They can get them immediate coverage.

American Memorial will give him 1st day. Strokes only disqualify him for prefered rates. Standard rate is $211 month for $20,000.
