50 Years!!!!!

Y'all can say what you want but the insurancce business was a tough living for me. In this area every available acre of land is being bought up by people from mostly northern states and they don't like to be bothered. Real estate has become unaffordable for the average family although a lot of people I know have become wealthy because of it. Locals are much easier to deal with. I do believe that some parts of the country are much easier to sell in than others. Just come to the FL panhandle and find out.

Thank God I don't have to chase leads anymore. Just sell enough to keep my renewals level and draw my entitlement check. You can live good on a lot less when you don't have business expenses, no house payments or car payments.

It's tough to sell insurance no matter where you are. You're selling something you can't see to cover something that hasn't happened yet.

Actually the selling part is easy. It's finding people to talk to that's the hard part. I started selling l&h back in 73. Not debit, no career shops and no boss. 100% just me. It's always been that way. I did try to fire myself once but the damn fool came back the next day acting like nothing ever happened.

Most of the new kids today have no idea when I start talking about suspects, prospects and personal observation. It's all about leads. Prospecting is a dying art.

We can talk about the economy, politics, the border, inflation or whatever. Pick one. But we're all facing the same problems.

Right. There's some agents making bank selling FE in Billy's back yard. And there's other agents there saying the same thing he's saying.

Just like in my area. Agents come and go faster than I can count.

And there's others killing it.

Truth.

There are people in Northern California traveling to Southern California to sell, and Southern California agents traveling to Northern California because they are easier to sell.

Sounds like bass fishing to me Wino.
Guys in boats trolling alone casting into the bank.
Guys on the bank casting as far out in the lake as they can.

Both lying about the one that got away.

Reminds me of a friend I had years ago. He's gone now but way back in the day, he'd load up every week and drive over to Alabama to door knock for FE. Spend the entire week living in a motel room and come home for the weekend.

He wasn't working leads. He and a couple of other guys were just cold knocking.

I wonder how many doors he drove by before he got to where he was going.

That happens here all the time. Agents drive into this area 3 hours or more one way. Agents here drive to the areas those agents left.

We always wonder if they wave at each other on the road. :cute:
