A dying agents warning ‼️

Flipped a guy from MA to Med Supp today.

$270 for G
Best MA PPO was $6,700 MOOP

$0 WellCare PDP, he'll hit 2k OOP.

He has 8+ doctors. Cancer. Service Area Reduction...

Med supps have their place.

But in general, I still think MAs save more people money over time. I don't hesitate to write them. But I always tell people about Plan G. I still have 50% more med supp but my MA book is always growing.

I'm sorry...."Well" who??? That name does not compute to me at all. Are they an insurer?

In all seriousness, I ordered a ton of their books and threw them all in the trash. Gonna be ordering round 2 very soon and doing the same thing.

@sshafran how did you "flip" someone with health issues to Medigap? Trial right?

You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want. Zig Ziglar

SAR.

Scott - I'm surprised that the enhanced $90 ish dollar no deductible drug plan wasn't better for him than WellCare.

Another one that is too stubborn to even think about offering a client options. 34 million on MA are all morons for being on it?By all means it's about what you think and not what is best for the client.
agree. I regularly get clients asking me which I like better, and I tell them both have their place. It's all about what the consumer is comfortable with and what they can afford. I totally "get" why doctors and hospitals get frustrated with MAPDs, but they make them out to be the worst thing ever, and they just aren't. I have hundreds on MAPD and perfectly happy with them. I have people who have moved from Supps to MAPD because the supps got so damned expensive they just couldn't justify it, and only one "regretted it" (and she doesn't have an actual reason, other than she just feels more comfortable on a supp and she can afford it easily, so we put her back on one-she's healthy and that was easy). I have lots of people on Supps who wouldn't dream of going on an MAPD and I totally respect that. Different strokes and all that.

The right thing to do is tell them the pros and cons of both and let them decide. It's not that hard. I don't hide the issues that MAPD could have regarding preapproval and networks, etc and I tell people turning 65 who have multiple health issues that they'd probably be happier on a supp if they can afford it, but I also assure clients that MAPDs are a lot safer than the media makes them out to be.

Funny that most people could afford them before MA plans were introduced. I understand that many struggled to make the payments, but I can guarantee you many that went onto an MA plan found out just how "affordable" those med supps were.
I'm willing to bet that a lot more people had only OM because they couldn't afford a med supp and didn't have the option of an MAPD. I don't see hardly at all any more, but even 12 years ago when I was just starting out, I ran into a lot of people who only had OM and sometimes a PDP.

I will have to concede to you a bit here. I got leads and I'm pretty sure they would reply to it because they were interested. So I may not have had the same opportunity to see the people that didn't want anything. I just never ran into many that only had OM. I ran into a few, but most of them had a Supp when I was done.
