Adios, Amigos!

Sometimes I feel the same way. I use to read every post on here when I first found this forum, and I'm referring to the first edition.

Now, I have 1,000's of un-read posts.

You just have to realize this is a public forum which is gaining traction in the industry.

The unfortunate part with a public forum, is you have to take the good with the bad. Just learn to use the ignore button.

Maybe Sam could have Val place an ignore poster button down by the online-offline button. That would make it easier to use. I'll bet many don't even know we have an ignore button to use.

We have lost enough quality posters to make this an issue. I for one would have been lost without the information gleaned from this forum.

Everytime we lose a quality poster, we all lose.

As one of those who added to the "problem," I hope you'll reconsider. My fight was with one person and I made the decsision a few days ago that it was beneath me to respond to a jerk.

Good decision. I ("the jerk") applaud it and welcome it. I know you want to post "He's still a jerk, but I won't respond to him anymore" so I'll do it for you.

It's fine. No one has to "like" everyone and I dislike you as much as you dislike me. But we can co-exist here and just make it a point to try to be as civil as possible.

It's OK to have strong opinions and fine to be critical of the opinions of the other person, but it is important to remember to be critical of the message, not the messenger.

People may disagree with you (everyone here) and they may post information that is wrong, and they may hold opinions that you think are repugnant, but they are still human beings and none of the above makes them "jerks."

It's good (and refreshing) to leave here from time to time. I have. John has. Several others have and have come back. I'm sure we have not seen the end of Dave F.

So Dave, have a good sabbatical. Come back again when the spirit moves you.

Thanks All! I am going to take the rest of May off and then we deploy out to UK in June for Air Force. So I will take a break and expect I may be back in late June or early July.

I have no problem with any specific posters, it's just the as of late the attacking, belittling and all that is getting excessive.

Dave

I hope you will reconsider, Dave, after a short break. You have been an asset to this forum . I have gleaned much information from your posts as I am sure others have. Come back soon.

Thanks Dave

You have provided me quite a few pointers that I have taken to heart and that have really helped. Your posts will be missed.

I agree with your sentiments, Dave. I note that quite a few others express the same, and have found the same solution I have: the ignore list! When I added the ones that constantly post snide or silly remarks to my ignore list, it returned the enjoyment I once had cruising this forum.

Enjoy your summer camp!

Seriously, how do we ignore people?

Hey,

I'm sorry to see you go. I don't believe I've ever communicated with you at all but best regards to you. I think this forums do have some people that expresses their opinions in different ways but for the most part, I've enjoyed it. Good luck to you.
