Adios, Amigos!

I had one of these . . .

Had one of these as my first computer. TRS 80 Model 1 that I paid $850 for in March 1980. Stored data on (included) cassette recorder.

Upgraded that summer (1980) to the Model 3. Paid $3000 (- I think? Sounds like a rip-off, but all these years I've been amazed at what more $3k would buy each year). Bought the modem when it came out, but it had no software. Wrote a BASIC program to "peek" and "poke" the ports to communicate with NCSU, UNC, and CompuServe at 300 baud from home. It worked! Later wrote an Assembly Language program that worked better, so I could communicate with CompuServe at 1200 baud. Couldn't hardly read that fast!!!

Spent the rest of my time back then (professionally) with one of these (Fender Precision Bass). Mine had a Maple neck (light colored, like the headstock here), much cooler.

What!? Counting is involved! (Music Time). Pythagoras, Mathematics, and all that. :twitchy:

That's right, Dave. The picture didn't post for some reason. The "lunchbox" computer. Bought it used from a buddy.

Amazing how much computers have changed. I had an uncle who had a Sinclair (the computer, not the oil company).
