Definitely pay the credit card off. But use it. Certainly, one can be responsible with a credit card.

We use Discover for almost everything and get a nice bonus that builds up. There's also another one (MC?) we use that gets pretty good points too. We then use the points to buy $50 gift cards to places we use...and only pay $40 for the card! What a deal!

I generally do F2F, so I just lift a leg and let it rip. If they join it, its a done deal. Nothing like getting that prim and proper old lady to let one loose.
