Absolutely!
 
Affinity marketing is very common with almost all field of businesses. It is a good strategy to be able to widen the scope of your market. I would surely consider such strategy in order to have a better position and income.
 
Yes, affinity marketing can be a huge synergistic positive if done right. I'm currently working on some Final Expense leads in affinity/partnership with a company called Dignity Planning.

The one problem I have with your post is the "share their customers" concept. Only way that's ever worked is to send your material to the affinity "partner", and they will mail to their own house file. Customer files have never been "shared" in my experience.

I would like to make some contacts with captive agents working with a major insurer in the US. I am a market researcher working offshore for a major US insurer. Having contacts with our competitors (particulary those working in marketing) would make my job a whole lot easier.

What percentage of premiums (or dollar amount) is earned through affinity groups>?
