This is just an Idea. Food for thought. It may or may not work for you.

Starbucks or any place that has giftcards goes here.

Dear Mr. Jones
Meals On Wheels Director,

As you can see, I have attached a $5 Starbucks card to this letter. Why have I done this? Really, just to say thank you.

You don't know me, but I know about you. I know for example that you serve our community as the Director of the Charity Name Here, and I know that you are way overworked and way underpaid for what you do.

I just want you to know how much I appreciate what you do. But I also know how seldom people actually show their appreciation.

I am a Medicare/Life Insurance agent and I appreciate what you do, in really caring for people. I hope that you will enjoy a free cup of coffee on me. If you ever need to refer an agent who also really cares about people, I hope you will call me. But even if you don't, I hope you will feel sincerely and warmly appreciated.

Sincerely,

John Smith, Agent
ABC Agency

Mark, I truly enjoy reading your post.
You are what I would call an ideal man.
You are always thinking, and most of the time outside of the box.

Would you say from your experience, that the problem is not
marketing, or prospecting. But the fact that most agents
just don't do it consistently, or have a system?

You have some great down to earth basic ideals on your web site.

Keep the faith, keep coming up with the ideals and I hope
your health improves.

I like that idea I may use it for clients that referred me in the past. A just because gift. With a magnate card enclosed:1wink:

Ever notice how many seniors are in McDonald's in the morning? I took my daughter there the other morning. The place was packed with groups of seniors. I would guess that they have $5. gift certificates.

Thanks for the idea.

I think most of their problems is the lack of doing anything. They are just waiting on someone to hand them everything.

They wont invest their time or money into this career. They wont even read anything.

You can't be afraid to try new ideas until you find that something works.

In my area you can't even get in a Hardees before 9 in the morning for all the seniors eating breakfast.
I think out west they are called Jack in the box or something else.
But in the south they are Hardees, and they do a nice breakfast.
Your right WIno that may be a nice gift card for a senior client.

Great idea. Think about using something like that also when you read about someone doing something honorable in the local newspaper... A little tie into how impressed you were with what they did, etc.

I've also thought that companies like Starbucks should market their gift cards on a wholesale basis to encourage people like us to use them in ways like this. How about I buy 20 $5.00 gift cards for $80? Maybe an independent coffee place would be more open to something like that rather than a giant like Starbucks.

Just a thought

Send this to teachers and educators!

Easy to get a list of names and addresses from the website of your local school district.

Also, maybe partner with a vendor. For example, many Dunkin Donuts are owned by independent franchisees. They might be interested in selling you a gift certificate for a "Free Iced Coffee" for example, very cheaply because they know only a percentage will be redeemed and those that are redeemed will probably buy a donut or a muffin or something.

Great way to break into a market! Thanks, Mark!
