Agents Going Out on Good Friday?

You are correct, Sir! Always wondered how anyone could squeeze "3 days and 3 nights" from Friday evening to Sunday morning, lol.

I think it was the math from a Pope way back in the day.

Supposedly, it has to do with a Jewish tradition that any part of a day counted as "a day" and the fact that the new day started at 6PM. Died 3PM Friday and was buried shortly after before 6PM 1 day. In the grave at 6pm; the Saturday sabbath began - 2nd day.. Still in the grave at 6PM when the Sabbath ended and Sunday began and arose early the following morning 3rd day.

There are two Sabbath days on Passover week. In John 19, it refers to it as a High Day. Also, think about the ladies buying spices and preparing them. That is considered work and they would not have been able to do it on Saturday.

Christ died on a Wednesday. Thursday was the High Day Sabbath. Friday the ladies would have bought and prepared the spices for his burial. Saturday was another Sabbath. Then early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb, but He was already risen.

If you line up all 4 gospels, it is easy to see.

Plus, Jewish tradition or not, Christ himself said he would be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights.

It's Catholic tradition that says Christ died on a Friday. I understand the confusion as it said the next day was the Sabbath.

But as you well know, Catholics place more importance on Church Tradition than the Scriptures.

I don't disagree with you.. However, there are others that make a case for Thursday being the day of the crucifixion. As for when we meet to "remember" that event, it is now commanded that we do so any place in scripture so I guess one day is as good as another. I do know this.. Christ said the only sign he would give was "three days and three nights" in the tomb.. I believe that he fulfilled that sign no matter how it may be counted.
