Aggressive dog breed

Know of any home insurance companies more likely to offer insurance for an aggressive dog breed? Thanks.

Oh, someone asked me this. I was sort of just looking for a general answer. Like, which companies are more likely.

I doubt that there is a single answer that can be applied, it will vary by state, and by dog breed. Somewhat like asking who is the cheapest, you can argue, but there isn't one answer until there are facts.

Give me the situation, I might be able to point you in a direction.

Let me say this: Is it very difficult to find companies for certain breeds? I know that some companies ban certain types of dog breeds, but would they be the minority?

Well, the answer is this, yes and no. Depends if the dog has spots and if your State is on the West or East Coast. It also helps to understand which companies you write for, now if we take all that into consideration plus add a little spice you might just get a more straight forward answer. Plus the color of the house comes into play, the dog will likely have to go thru some testing too make sure the color of the house isn't just pissing him off and creating a more dangerous dog.

James -

Are you trying to imply in some subtle way that the question is just far to general to answer? To me, it's a lot like asking which is the best insurance company, without any frame of reference.

She is trying to have a discussion, about general topics, there simply isn't a way to respond. The questions have to be more specific, such as:

Many insurance companies seem to have dog exclusions for certain breeds. What companies offer alternatives? May get a few responses. Asking minority / majority questions is useless, since very few people would write enough business in enough states to have a good feel for this. Plus, most only write for a few companies, making it impossible to know.

Of course, calls to insurance companies will get the answers.

:) Ok. I had an article on my blog about liability insurance for dog bites, I received an email asking what companies will be good for aggressive dogs. That's all I know. I guess the answer is - Call the home insurance companies in your state.

Gee, that may be a start! Now if you have an actually State and Company someone here might just have an answer!

I suspect that Pitbulls is the breed that most P&C companies have reservations about including Rottweilers and Wolf Hybreds, now if that is due to actuall payouts or public view, I can not say. I think (as I'm not in P&C side of the business) having a Pitbull in Illinios will make it tough to get Home Insurance but in TN I really haven't heard many complaints about Dogs effecting Home Insurance.

LOL...if your any insurance expert with your own blog take a few minutes and research it via P&C companies.

Or ask specific ?'s that someone may be able to answer.
