I wrote for Farmers and Foremost and the homeowner could exclude the dog with the bite history. Open a huge door for a lawsuit but coverage can be had and my customer was coming from nationwide as well. Kid visiting the house went out to garage and climbed into the doghouse when the dog was in there. Over 100K paid out to family and Farmers took the policy

Did this happen in Virginia? There could have been a valid defense against liability for the circumstances you describe.
