ALERT RE: 1st YEAR Commissions. MUST READ

Let's not forget to notify the National Assoc. of Health Underwriters also.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how NAHU throws you under the bus. The last thing NAHU wants to do right now is to take on another fight with the government. And the idea that they are going to stand up for an agent verses a carrier... is pure fantasy. Have they ever done it in the past? No. Asked and answered.

Your best shot is with your elected reps. Forget NAHU.

President Obama said today at his Press Conference:

"So there's been a lot of talk about, well, a trillion-dollar price tag. What I've said is, if we're going to spend that much money, then it's going to be largely funded through reallocating dollars that are already in the health care system, but aren't being spent well.
If we're spending $177 billion over 10 years to subsidize insurance companies under Medicare Advantage, when there's no showing that people are healthier using that program than the regular Medicare program, well, that's not a good deal for taxpayers.
And we're going to take that money and we're going to use it to provide better care at a cheaper cost to the American people. So, that's point number one."

A letter from UHC Friday, 6PM:

June 26, 2009

Dear Agent:
We are reaching out to you today to update you on UnitedHealthcare's ongoing efforts regarding the recent issue of determination and processing of initial-year commission payments for Part D plan to Medicare Advantage plan conversions. More importantly, we want to make clear our support and commitment to you in this matter.
Since this issue first came to light late last Friday, our teams from across the company have been working on finding a solution to this issue. We have maintained a dialog with our CMS representatives from the beginning, and continue to do so almost daily. We believe our teams have done a very good job of putting forth our point of view and hope we can gain resolution on questions surrounding initial-year payments soon.
We wish we could give you a guarantee on how or when this will get resolved, but that isn't possible in the complex and sensitive environment we work in. We are committed to make every reasonable effort to find an acceptable solution for all parties involved.
We know this is an emotional issue for you. Even in the best of times, commission delays are frustrating and maddening. But in today's economic times, it can be even more dire for many. We never forget for a moment that you have families to support and bills to pay.
Thank you for your continued support and patience, and we will be back with more information as soon as we can.
Sincerely,
Mark Phillips Alberto Fernandez
