American Memorial mainly does only guaranteed issue funeral preplan policies through funeral homes that are owned by SCI. American Memorial is owned by Assurant.
I saw recently where American Memorial is bringing out a new final expense policy that can be sold by independent agents BUT it is only for pretty healthy people. There isn't even a graded version of it and the rates are too high to be competitive.
They are counting pretty heavily on SCI's Dignity Planner dot com website to sell it BUT you can go through other companies and use that same Dignity Planner at much better rates.

If you want a true guaranteed issue I would look at Americo.
If near guaranteed issue, there are many choices. I like Monumental, Settlers Life, Royal Neighbors. There may be others that are just as good.
