Some would consider this a feature, not a bug.

A newly discovered glitch in the main ObamaCare website reportedly is giving thousands of people the wrong information about whether they qualify for premium subsidies.

Because of the glitch, some people may be initially told they qualify for subsidies when they don't. Others may be told they don't qualify when they do.

I smell clawback!

Since everyone will earn more or less in 2014 than what they're estimating, everyone will either owe money to the IRS, or receive a partial Advance Payment Tax Credit refund/credit. This "glitch" simply throws another ingredient into that final calculation, unless the IRS agrees to use the same formula as HC.gov is using, state-by-state.

Satisfaction will come to some, and anger to others. An improving economy overall will generate more anger, because there will be more APTC/Subsidy claw-back repayments required.

I dare say most of the subsidy crowd are accustomed to getting most, if not all, of their withholding back when they file their taxes. They won't be pleased.

And you have a very good point. Who can accurately predict their income next year?

My wife works in a school system. She has no idea what she will earn this year, much less next. Her contract runs from July through June. No raise in 5 years (school system didn't have the funds). Furlough days due to budget cuts.

The people that designed Ocare are clueless.
