Anyone Ever Used Survey Leads

I'm looking for some feedback from those of you who have used survey leads in the past. We did a few test mailings and received a substantial return north of 8%. We are still working through the leads to get our data on sales and cost per lead. The problem we're having is the agents who are working these are used to working traditional lead cards which is wildy different than a survey lead.

With that said, have any of you guys used survey leads with much success and do you have any input or advice on approaching these leads?

I've used them as my main leads for funeral pre-need. A lead vendor that I used one time has posted my design on his website as his design so I'll link it. High-Quality, Low Cost Preplanning, Grief, Aftercare & Direct Mail Products

I've been working on and off with a design for FE but haven't mailed any. We can compare notes if you want to.

Surveys have always been the staple of funeral preneed marketing.

8% is a huge return. I would be interested to see what you come up with. I have to imagine you don't get many "I thought it was free" responses with this.

I'll let you know how it works. 8% is a great response, but it's definitely not an apples to Apples comparison to traditional FE leads. Surveys are a new animal for me so we're merely testing the waters with them. I'll let you know as we get better data.

Survey mailers get a lot of returns from people who really thought you wanted their opinion about everything. but there is a lot of gold in them for sure.

I've always liked how you know more information about what the prospect is thinking than a blind lead.

8% is a huge return. Usually 3.5% is a typical response.

It is mind blowing the response, which is why I need to really refine the sales process. As you said, the information is huge if you take the time to study each survey before calling each client. The bad news is you spend time filtering through people who genuinely just wanted to provide solid feedback and the good news is they are all very receptive to the follow up phone call.

The value will be whether or not we can more than double our production with a more than double response rate....Thats the key!!
