A buddy gives advice based upon what he would do. An advisor gives advice based upon what he would do in the other person's situation.

It may seem minor, but it is a huge distinction.

JMO based on the facts... 5 years from now May 2014 will not be a point in the chart that you would point at and say "I should have gotten in there"...

Unless maybe you're talking about shorting the market :-)
