Approaching Businesses

Hey all quick question before I do this today lol, when you guys promote to businesses, how do you approach them when you flyer or give them your business cards?

what do you guys usually say?

Almost anything will work . . . as long as you are consistent.

Biz cards are fine if it is clear what you offer and direct them to a website where they can get INFORMATION (including a self generated quote).

Flyers give more information, still need a web URL, and are less likely to be thrown away if the flyer is attention grabbing.

Most business cards are boring and uninspiring. Good chance the card will be thrown away right after you walk out the door unless you say something that grabs them . . . AND your card encourages them to follow through.

You generate interest by asking questions. Verbal questions when you are in front of the business owner, written questions on the card, flyer and even on the website.

Questions engage your prospect.

Statements, unless they are forceful and commanding, are a turn off.

You want your prospect to identify with you. If you can convey that in your words and connect in 20 seconds or less you are on your way.
