Are med sups doomed ?

Just curious when you’ve sold them crap limited network hmo aca at most likely a very low to no premium .How the hell could they think a mapd with 5 times bigger network plus the ability to go out of network is crap ?That’s the pot calling the kettle black . I sell a non t-65 this time of yr I make $100 . How’s that more than a med sup ?
Under 65 is the biggest part of my business but all my Medicare business ages in from my under 65 business, They all ask about Medicare Advantage but once I show them this video from the gov starting at the 28 sec mark [EXTERNAL LINK] - Medicare Advantage Denials of Care they want nothing to do with Medicare Advantage. In fairness, I do show negatives about both Med sups and Med Advantage 90% of the time I put them on Med supps. I'm not saying their isn't a place for them but it's rare.

Let's not kid ourselves if it wasn't for the higher agent commissions these plans would be dead. How many of your clients want the insurance companies involved in their healthcare decisions?

'The difference is you have a choice in the Medicare market on the ACA the choice is limited. Also, The denials on these Medicare Advantage plans are brutal. On Medicare Advantage your selling the higher commission product even though the coverage is inferior. If you had a crystal ball and you knew something bad health wise going to happen just based on the number of doctors alone your picking a Medicare supplement.

About 70% of mine the last 11
years or so. It’s what insurance companies do. Who wants the Gov’t involved in their healthcare decisions?

Medicare Advantage the gov is still involved the procedures covered are supposed to be equal to what Medicare covers. The Government Medicare Advantage carriers on a monthly basis. The decision is between the Dr and the client as long as it's a medicare approved charge with the supplement Which Medicare Advantage is supposed to offer same coverage on Medicare Advange the decisions are between the carrier, the dr, and the client.

New agent here, getting into Advantage & Supps. What are some of the healthcare decisions government is involved in under Medicare Advantage plans?

They are supposed to cover the same procedures as original Medicare covers.

That’s total bs . Overall taking the whole yr into account I’m making way less on mapd . 90% of mapd sales are not T-65. They already have plan . 7-1 effective date I make $150, 8-1 $125,9-1 $100 . Med sup will avg $25 a month or $300. Add in the $90 pdp and your near $400 , taking into account all my business through the year I make far less than $390 .

Maybe try typing again, can't understand a thing you are saying.

The whole higher commission med Supp agents love to spew is completely wrong. It’s a tool they use when explaining to clients why they don’t offer MAPD. Most agents sell non t65’s and make much less per sale than a med Supp agent.

How so?

According to CMS the max commission in the majority of states for 2024 is $611 for a first timer and $306 for a renewal. How is that less than a supplement which will average around $300?

What about the proliferation of rookie agents that are pounding on the T65 crowd. Facebook, YouTube, etc. They're coming out of the woodwork.

10k people a day turn 65. That’s 3.6 mil a yr out of 65 mil on Medicare . That’s 10% of all Medicare eligible. 1 out of every 10 sales is a true up

Let's get back to the subject at hand...

TRUMP vs biden

That is a whole lot more interesting than MAPD VS supplements!

Horse shit. True ups are much higher than that.

It may look that way out there in trailer park land but the rest of us on here are actually selling the stuff.
