Illinois Broker Fees

I'd like to know from an IL agent what the rules are on charging broker fees on commercial policies? Can they joy be charged on surplus lines policies? Is there a limit? Do you have to use a certain disclosure form like in CA?

There is no formal limit or disclosures in Illinois, fees can be charged on either admitted or surplus lines business.

That being said I wouldn't get too greedy and make sure the insured signs a binder/invoice with the fee listed in case you are ever questioned.
