Hi, I guess I posted on the wrong forum, I am 69 and a retired disabled veteran, My present ins co wants 4800 per year for my coverage. mynext payment for august is 515. I have had no accidents or tickets for 2 years, I investigated many ins companies to find someone who would cover me. Right now its mapfre I think with a parent of commerce. Can anyone help me. I am very discouraged..I was told the reason for my increased rates is due to my surcharge points which are 25...thanks cheryl

Find an independent agent that represents many companies. There ought to be competitive companies out there that could reduce your costs a bit now that your record has been clean for two years.
